Happy 110th Anniversary, Husqvarna! While all, or at least most eyes, are on Harley-Davidson this year, we have to let the people know, that 2013 is also the 110th anniversary milestone for world-class offroad bike manufacturer Husqvarna. Having fared significantly worse than the Milwaukee manufacturer, Husqvana changed hands and was itself changed a lot during the last two decades. While still producing winning bikes for the enduro segment, Husqvarna account for around 20%... Reported by autoevolution 4 hours ago.

Weird Iowa: Speedy NFL Combine, Underwear Thief, and Goldilocks Steals Food

Weird Iowa: Speedy NFL Combine, Underwear Thief, and Goldilocks Steals Food Patch Cedar Falls, IA --

It's like a weird, criminal version of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears."

A *West Des Moines* woman came home to find that someone had been smoking in her apartment, took some of her food, swiped some Oxycodone, and drove her car until it was nearly out of gas. Police say the suspect used the victim's computer to fill out and sign a college application and had played some online games -- leaving an identity in the search history.

Let's face it – you can never have too much Harlem Shake.

First up, the Harlem Shake dance craze has left *Ankeny* relatively untouched. Until now. This week's incarnation of the popular meme comes via the ladies of TGR Fitness.

Not to be left out, Russ Goerend's sixth-grade advisory at *Waukee* Middle School also posted a YouTube video of their dance.

Creating his own kind of buzz was University of Northern Iowa in *Cedar Falls* football receiver Terrell Sinkfield, when he participated in a pro day for NFL scouts. The Panther senior ran the 40-yard dash in 4.19 seconds, which would be the fastest 40 time at the NFL combine since 2006.

Is it weird that an essential part of life, such as sewer service, would stir comment in *Marion*? Residents will get a chance to speak up on a proposed rate change for sanitary sewer services. If approved, most users will pay about $6 more per month.

New CyRide buses in *Ames* are weird in a very useful sort of way. Double-long buses with accordion like midsections will soon be bending around Ames street corners. The 62-foot-long buses bend in the middle, hence the black, folding accordion-like sections, and can carry more than 100 passengers.

And, we don't want to disappoint, so here's a few more weird items frome Iowa police blotters.

There's a weird reality TV show, "Storage Wars," that shows people vying for the contents of unclaimed storage units, but a sinister version of that show is going on in *Johnston* and *Urbandale*.

The neighboring cities' police departments are tracking thieves tied to vehicle thefts and thefts from storage units in both towns. So far, police have recovered more than $10,000 in property in a storage unit, including a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Need to pick up a few necessities, like underwear, swing by Kohl's. That's not weird. Unless you take the kids along and leave them alone in a car.

A Des Moines father faces criminal charges for allegedly leaving two children in a parked car while he stole underwear from the Kohl's store at Merle Hay Mall. *Urbandale* police charged Ryan Baker, 33, left a 3-year-old and a 10-year-old in a parked, running car on Sunday while he stole $30 worth of underwear from the store.

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Pacific Premier Bancorp, Inc. (NAS: PPBI) ("Pacific Premier" or the "Company") today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire San Diego Trust Bank (OTCBB: SDBK), a San Diego, California, based state-chartered bank with $242.0 million in total assets and $187.9 million in total deposits at December 31, 2012. This transaction will expand Pacific Premier's banking footprint into San Diego County and is expected to further improve Pacific Premier's deposit mix.

Steven R. Gardner, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Premier commented, "This is an attractive opportunity for us to expand into the San Diego marketplace with the acquisition of San Diego Trust Bank, one of the top performing community banks in this market. We believe San Diego is a logical extension for our franchise that will allow us to continue to execute on our strategic plan. This acquisition will enable us to introduce the Pacific Premier brand, products and services into a new market with similar demographics to our current footprint. Further, the transaction will provide us with significant opportunities for synergies due to San Diego Trust Bank's strong relationship based business banking model."

Mr. Gardner continued, "We are excited that San Diego Trust Bank has agreed to join and grow with Pacific Premier. We see this as an exciting opportunity for our combined shareholders, customers and employees. San Diego Trust Bank's existing customers will continue to receive the same excellent customer service and products without disruption. Additionally, the acquisition of San Diego Trust Bank will allow Pacific Premier to deploy a portion of its current capital base into a compelling investment. Lastly, we expect to be able to leverage the strong core deposit franchise of San Diego Trust Bank with our robust loan product offerings."

"We are thrilled to announce this strategic partnership with Pacific Premier," said Michael Perry, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of San Diego Trust Bank. "Not only does this combination provide our original shareholders with the opportunity to realize a meaningful return on their initial capital investment of $12 million, it allows them the opportunity to participate in the enhanced value created by the collective efforts of our respective organizations," he added. "Our clients will benefit from the increased lending capacity as a result of this merger and the broad array of financial services and products that Pacific Premier currently offers. Most importantly, our valued clients will continue to be served by the same exceptional team they have known and trusted for years at San Diego Trust Bank. This is truly a situation where our shareholders, clients, staff and the San Diego community benefit greatly from the combined efforts and resources of two exceptional banking institutions," concluded Perry.

In connection with the signing of the definitive agreement, Pacific Premier entered into an employment agreement with San Diego Trust Bank's current Chief Operating Officer Toby Reschan, which will become effective upon consummation of the acquisition. Mr. Reschan will become the senior executive for Pacific Premier in the San Diego region going forward and will be responsible for overseeing the existing offices and continued expansion. Michael E. Perry, San Diego Trust Bank's founder, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, will remain engaged as a shareholder and supporter of the combined entity.

The transaction is currently valued at approximately $30.6 million. San Diego Trust Bank shareholders will have a choice between electing to receive $13.41 per share in cash or 1.114x shares of PPBI common stock for each share of San Diego Trust Bank or a combination thereof, subject to the overall requirement that 50% of the consideration will be in the form of cash and 50% will be in the form of PPBI stock. The number of shares of Pacific Premier common stock to be issued to San Diego Trust Bank shareholders is based on a fixed exchange ratio provided that Pacific Premier's stock price remains between $10.83 and $13.24 as measured by the 10-day average closing price immediately prior to closing of the transaction. The value of the stock portion of consideration will fluctuate based on the value of PPBI common stock. To the extent the average closing price of Pacific Premier common stock is outside this price range for Pacific Premier common stock, then the exchange ratio will adjust to reflect the increase or decrease of Pacific Premier common stock that is outside of this range.

On a pro forma combined basis with Pacific Premier's pending acquisition of First Associations Bank ("FAB") and the proposed acquisition of San Diego Trust Bank, Pacific Premier would have total assets of $1.7 billion, total loans outstanding of $1.0 billion and total deposits of $1.4 billion as of December 31, 2012 (unaudited).

The transaction is expected to close late in the second quarter of 2013 or in the third quarter of 2013, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals and approval of San Diego Trust Bank shareholders. Directors and executive officers of San Diego Trust Bank have entered into agreements with Pacific Premier and San Diego Trust Bank whereby they committed to vote their shares of San Diego Trust Bank common stock in favor of the acquisition. For additional information about the proposed acquisition of San Diego Trust Bank, you should carefully read the definitive merger agreement that we filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") today.

Pacific Premier was advised in this transaction by D.A. Davidson & Co., as financial advisor, and Patton Boggs LLP, as legal counsel. San Diego Trust Bank was advised by Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc., as financial advisor, and McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, as legal counsel.

Scottish round-up: Limp Rangers are jeered after Annan's stunning win

• Murray Davidson scores as Saints beat Killie
• Billy McKay earns Caley a draw at Dundee

Goals from Ally Love and David Hopkirk gave *Annan Athletic* a stunning 2-1 victory at Ibrox as *Rangers*, with the boos of their fans ringing in their ears, suffered a first home league defeat of the season. Andy Little pulled a goal back but it was a dismal day for the Third Division leaders, who were described by their chief executive Charles Green in midweek as the worst side in the club's history.

The Rangers players were jeered off with the score 0-0 at half-time, but it got worse as two minutes into the second half Annan made the breakthrough. Danny Orsi swept the ball in from the left and Love nudged the ball into the net to silence the home crowd.

Francisco Sandaza replaced Kal Naismith as Rangers chased an equaliser but the Galabank side doubled their lead after 54 minutes. Murray sent a deep cross to the far post and Hopkirk bravely dived to head the ball low beyond Alexander.

Four minutes later McCoist's team reduced their arrears. Barrie McKay floated in a corner kick and although Sandaza's shot was heading towards a packed goal, Little headed it over the line for his 22nd goal of the season. Although Rangers pushed for the equaliser, Annan refused simply to defend in numbers. They continued to move the ball around with confidence and held on for a deserved win.

Elsewhere in the Third Division, *Stirling Albion* thrashed *East Stirling* 9-1 at the Forthbank Stadium, with Jordan White scoring four times.

In the Scottish Premier League, second-half goals from Murray Davidson and Gregory Tade boosted* St Johnstone's *top-six aspirations in a one-sided 2-0 win over *Kilmarnock*. In front of just 2,425 fans, McDiarmid Park's lowest weekend crowd of the season, the Perth side completed a hat-trick of victories this term over Kilmarnock.

*Aberdeen* were held to a 0-0 draw for the sixth time at Pittodrie this season as *Motherwell *became the latest team to frustrate the Dons. Aberdeen have slipped down the table during a run that before Saturday had seen them score just three times in their previous eight games. The welcome return of striker Scott Vernon back to the team could not amend that statistic.

*Dundee* were left frustrated as *Inverness* struck late on through Billy McKay for a share of the spoils in a hard-fought SPL match at Dens Park. The home side's interim manager John Brown was set to celebrate his second victory in charge in the space of just a few days thanks to John Baird's first-half opener but Caley Thistle hit back through McKay's 82nd-minute header.

*St Mirren* and *Dundee United* had to settle for a share of the spoils after a goalless draw in Paisley, in which John Rankin was sent off for the visitors two minutes from time.

The hosts, in their last game before taking on Hearts in the League Cup final next Sunday, looked the more likely scorers in the first half, going close with efforts from Steven Thompson and Esmaël Gonçalves, set up by Gary Teale.

United were livelier after half-time with their two best chances of breaking the deadlock falling late on to the substitute Michael Gardyne.

Yamaha targets Harley with a budget-priced, old-school cruiser motorcycle

*Yamaha targets Harley with a budget-priced, old-school cruiser motorcycle*

As Daytona Bike Week continues, Star Motorcycles introduced a new, stripped-down cruiser dubbed Bolt. Offered in basic and better-trimmed R-Spec form, the Bolt has an old-school appearance at a relatively budget price.

With the Bolt, the Yamaha brand is moving deeper into American cruiser territory, and it is doing so at "metric" pricing. For some riders, this may offer an attainable alternative to Harley-Davidson models. (Think Sportster or Street Bob.) For others, it can provide a fresh option for newer riders looking for an alternative to the small-displacement sport bikes and chrome-plated, midsized import cruisers. (See the Harley-Davidson Breakout also unveiled in Daytona.)

The Bolt uses a new frame, fitted with a fuel-injected, air-cooled 950cc engine. As the photos show, the Bolt is devoid of chrome, relying instead on simple paint and metal surfaces. The body is a slim design, and overall weight is a modest 540 lbs., notably 73 lbs. lighter than the company's V Star 950 that uses a similar engine. The Bolt has just a 3.2 gallon gas tank, compared to 4.5 gallons for the V Star 950. The seat is low at 27.2 inches.

Curious concessions to modernity, the Bolt uses a digital speedometer and an LED taillamp. Disc brakes are in place front and rear, but ABS is not offered—a disappointment for any new motorcycle design, more especially one that may attract less-experienced riders.

The Bolt will be priced at $7,990 when it goes on sale in April. The Bolt R-Spec follows in July for $8,290 with different shocks, seat stitching, unique colors, and added graphics, essentially providing a mild custom package. Star says its intention is to create a basic canvas that enthusiasts can accessorize from their catalog. While that may allow for an affordable custom, sticking to the basics is where you truly save money.

Top Two Seeds Advance in SoCon Tournament Georgia Southern gave top-seeded Davidson a game through the first six minutes of action in Saturday’s SoCon Tournament second round match-up, but an 11-0 run by the Wildcats’ with 14 minutes left in the first half led to an 86-59 rout. Davidson’s outside shooting and disruptive defense were the catalysts for a dominating performance that exhibited why they are the favorites to win the SoCon title.

Five Davidson players turned in double-digit scoring efforts, with Nik Cochran leading them all contributing 18 points and connecting on 5 of 7 from three point range. The Wildcats’ held Georgia Southern to 38% shooting and 1-8 from beyond the arc. Davidson will face No. 4 seed Appalachian State in tomorrow’s semifinals.

Elon University, the No. 2 seed, also advanced in a close game that wasn’t put away by the Phoenix until a pair of free throws by Sebastian Koch with 22 seconds left, leading to a 68-61 victory. Elon is the favorite to be Davidson’s opponent in the conference title showdown.

Koch, Elon’s best outside shooter at 44%, led all scorers with 15 points and went 2 for 3 from the outside. Lucas Troutman added a double-double effort, with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Elon will face the winner of College of Charleston/Western Carolina in the semifinals as the Phoenix continues the quest for their first Division 1 NCAA Tournament appearance. Moon Volunteers Organize Outreach Event at Holy Family Institute Patch Robinson-Moon, PA --

Members of the Moon Township-based Project Genesis service group today will volunteer time at the Holy Family Institute in Emsworth.

More than 60 volunteers, including members of St. Philips Church in Moon Township and Crossroads Church in North Fayette, will perform outreach today at the institute, a nonprofit that provides services to disadvantaged families and children in the Pittsburgh region.

Project Genesis member Rider Davidson, of Moon Township, said the group has worked with the Holy Family Institute for five years, and today will host its second-annual Easter celebration for members of the organization.

"It's just about us going down there, and taking some time to talk to the kids," Davidson said. "You have a lot of kids who are having a hard time, and around Easter, it's just about going there and giving some of your time."

Davidson said several Moon-area businesses have contributed to the event, including Hometown Pizza, Pizza Roma, and local locations for Starbucks and Pizza Hut.

"It started with Project Genesis and it's really grown," Davidson said. "It's really different churches coming together."

NASCAR Sees Growth In Fan Involvement From Partnership With Walmart

Three years ago, NASCAR and Walmart joined forces as partners to provide NASCAR fans with an essential one-stop shop for their racing needs.  Developed by Walmart, the "Race Time" platform provides NASCAR fans with the ability to purchase NASCAR tickets, along with merchandise, snacks and beverages to take to the race, during one visit to Walmart.  The partnership between NASCAR and Walmart was born out of both companies' interest of serving their markets and realization that much of their markets overlap.  "NASCAR fans are Walmart customers, and vice versa.  This partnership means great exposure for the sport.  First and foremost, Walmart delivers a value pack to fans, whether it's apparel, tailgate needs or tickets, they provide a great value to NASCAR fans," said NASCAR's vice president of licensing and consumer products, Blake Davidson. The birth of the Walmart partnership was predicated upon an internal business decision made by NASCAR.  "Before forming NASCAR Team Properties to consolidate a lot of the merchandising rights in the business, all of our rights from a retail standpoint for our teams were handled individually.  If a company wanted to come in and make products with NASCAR and a driver, they would have to do individual deals with the teams and NASCAR.  NASCAR Team Properties has allowed us to go to the retailers directly as one entity and deliver the sport to them," Davidson explained.  NASCAR had no problem selling its drivers and their teams on the benefits that NASCAR Team Properties could provide.  "One of the big motivators for the teams to come on board, was the value they could bring back to their sponsors with their cars," Davidson noted. Once all NASCAR drivers were on board and the structure of NASCAR Team Properties was in place, it was time to hit the market in search of retailers interested in licensing its portfolio.  For NASCAR, Walmart was an ideal partner.  "The way our deal is structured is Walmart has a direct license, so they can source the products to the store," Davidson explained. When the partnership began, twelve consumer packaged good companies participated in Walmart's "Race Time" platform, offering various NASCAR inspired products or deals to customers.  The program has grown significantly, as now over 40 consumer packaged goods are featured.  Walmart also sells discounted ticket and food packages to a variety of NASCAR races throughout the year. One way in which NASCAR and Walmart have seen continued growth of the partnership is through heavily involving NASCAR fans in the retail experience.  37 weeks out of the year, Walmart hosts various NASCAR promotion and activation events at its stores.  These events range from special product deals to hosting in-store events featuring drivers and their teams.  Davidson notes that this heavy activation structure not only benefits Walmart from a business standpoint, but also increases the visibility of NASCAR, its drivers and their sponsors.  "The great thing for the teams and sport, is the brands that participate in the sport sell products at Walmart.  Whether that’s Coca-Cola, Miller Light or Mars, they not only support the teams from a sponsorship standpoint, but have activations in Walmart stores during those 37 weeks out of the year.  This partnership brings a lot more value to the companies participating," Davidson said. Most recently, Walmart has leveraged its partnership with NASCAR to drive fan involvement by creating the "Fan Driven 400." Walmart will serve as the entitlement sponsor of June's Pocono race.  In doing so, Walmart is giving its customers and NASCAR fans the opportunity to customize race details, including the official race name (finalists can select from the fan-nominated choices of the "Race More, Live Better 400,""Poconos for the People 400," or "Party in the Poconos 400"), concession menus and the pace car design.  Fans can vote for their selections at walmarturl.com/fandriven through May 27.    "This is an evolution of the partnership we have with Walmart.  From the very beginning when we partnered with them, their whole motivation was to figure out ways to give greater value to the fans.  Each year they have done something a little different.  This year, they felt that sponsoring a race was another unique thing to do, but made it more unique by letting fans put their stamp on it," Davidson said. Alex Salmond provokes row by predicting £57bn Scotland oil 'boom'

First minister accused of selecting optimistic economic forecasts to bolster his case for independence

Alex Salmond has provoked a fresh row over his economic forecasting after predicting an independent Scotland would enjoy a mini "oil boom" worth up to £57bn in North Sea tax revenues.

The first minister's opponents accused him of selecting highly optimistic and selective forecasts in a "cobbled together" report to bolster his case for independence, which still risked leaving Scotland's finances billions short.

The Scottish government said its analysis of short-term forecasts of North Sea oil revenue showed that Scotland's potential tax take from oil and gas would equal between £41bn and £57bn by 2017-18, averaging out at £48bn over six years.

Salmond said this would significantly underwrite Scotland's economy, proving that North Sea oil was going from "strength to strength".

"It demonstrates that, when the expected increase in production to two million barrels a day is taken into account, there can be little doubt that Scotland is moving into a second oil boom," he said in Aberdeen.

The new Scottish government paper, produced by its civil servants, has been published after Salmond weathered a difficult row last week after a pessimistic economic assessment by the Scottish finance secretary John Swinney was leaked.

That document warned bluntly that oil revenues were a volatile and unreliable source of revenue, but the latest paper, released on Monday, said that independent agencies and industry bodies had predicted several bumper years for North Sea oil production, in the three years after the 2014 independence referendum.

It said the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development predicted oil prices could rise above a record level of $150 a barrel by 2020, while the UK government's Department of Energy and Climate Change also predicted rising oil prices.

At the same time, the oil industry was predicting production would rise from 1.4m barrels a day in 2010 to 2m barrels a day by 2017, and had spent £13bn investing in new production. Those figures contradicted gloomier forecasts for the UK government from the Office for Budget Responsibility late last year that said oil prices, now at $110 per barrel, would fall to $92 a barrel by 2017/18.

Assuming it had a full geographic share of North Sea oil and gas production, based on international marine treaties, Scotland's total reserves would be the highest of any EU country, at 60% of total EU oil reserves.

Scottish waters accounted for 64% of recent EU oil production and 78% of the UK's oil and gas production. While it acknowledged that Scotland only accounted for just over 50% of gas production, oil was more lucrative: 90% of all UK's oil reserves were in Scottish waters.

However, this analysis failed to compare Scotland's reserves with those of Norway's, which has 5.2bn barrels of proven reserves, versus 2.9bn barrels of proven reserves for the UK, as it is not in the EU. Norway was Europe's top oil exporter in 2011, exporting 1.8m barrels a day.

The six years it covered does not include the very high tax writeoffs expected in later years as the oil industry decommissions its rigs, or the significant impact of climate change policies and carbon taxes that international agencies and investment analysts predict will hit prices and investment in the 2020s.

Patrick Harvie MSP, the co-leader of the Scottish Green party, said Salmond was guilty of "shameless hypocrisy" for promoting the maximum use of North Sea oil and gas while promoting tough climate change targets.

The International Energy Agency had warned that only a third of the world's fossil fuel reserves could be burnt if the world wanted to avoid dangerous climate change.

Ruth Davidson, the Scottish Tory leader, said Salmond was being highly selective. The OECD report his officials cited also warned about the unreliability of oil forecasts. Their forecast also ignored projections by the World Bank that prices would stagnate at about $100 per barrel for the rest of the decade.

The average annual income of £8bn chosen by Salmond was still £2.5bn less than the £10.5bn in North Sea tax revenue for 2011/12, which left Scotland with a £7.6bn deficit that year.

Davidson said the report was "full of contradiction and assumption – and those are two things on which the future of an entire country cannot be based".

Willie Rennie, the Scottish Liberal Democrat leader, said the predictions were a poor argument for independence. "Even the SNP only predict for six years but expect Scots to reject a 300-year-old union on the back of their short-term predictions of a finite resource," he said.
